Terms and Conditions Privacy Policy
Please note that registration is done via the EuroPython 2009 shopping cart: choose your options here, and add them to the cart. Then when you go to the checkout, your address and contact details will be taken and used for conference registration. Please be sure to enter your email address correctly, and please use the same email address for registering on the EuroPython 2009 website wiki.
You may pay by secure online credit or debit card transaction, send a sterling cheque on a UK bank or postal order by post or pay by Bank Transfer (details).
Card payments take place through our Payment Services Provider using full 128 bit encryption and are secured by Verisign. If you have a PayPal account you will have the option of paying using that instead of a credit or debit card.
AMEX Note that if you want to pay by American Express card, then this will not be accepted by our normal card payment mechanism. However, if you have a PayPal account and if you select PayPal from the shopping basket, this route will accept Amex.
After payment you will be sent an Invoice, and a Registration Ticket: print this out and keep it, it's your pass into EuroPython 2009.
About Booking Your Place at EuroPython 2009
Here is some extra information about what you're booking.
Conference Place
The price for this depends upon how and when you book:
- Community Rates
- Early bird rate up to 14th May 2009 - £120
- Normal rate up to 25th June 2009 - £190
- Concessionary rate up to 25th June 2009 - £95
- On the door - £200
- Corporate Rate - if you order by company Purchase Order
- The corporate rate at all times is £295
- If you wish to book several delegates using one Purchase Order special rates apply: please Contact Us.
This is what you're getting:
- Your place at EuroPython 2009 for 3 days, 30th June-2nd July
- A EuroPython 2009 tee shirt
- The conference CD, plus hand outs from our generous sponsors
- One place at the conference dinner, Wednesday 1st July
- Optional Sprint Days (see below)
- Optional Tutorial Days, at a nominal extra charge (see below, subject to capacity).
We're using the Shopping Cart for conference registration, so please make sure you enter your contact details correctly, especially your email address which will be used to send you details of the conference (please use the same email address for registering on the EuroPython 2009 website wiki). To help us, please restrict your booking to one delegate at a time. If you want more, please make separate bookings. ( see the booking help ).
Tutorial Days
The Tutorial days are Sunday 28th June and Monday 29th June, with a mixture of half- and full day tutorials. The price is for attendence on both days, irrespective of which tutorials you attend. The prices are:
- Early bird rate up to 14th May 2009 - £70
- Normal rate up to 25th June 2009 - £100 (tbc)
Full details of tutorials will be posted on the website as they are confirmed. Currently (16th February) confirmed tutorials include:
- Introduction to IronPython by Michael Foord
- Introduction to Python by John Pinner and Nick Booker
- Code Clinic
- Pyjamas by Luke Leighton
- Open Space/informal round table hacking and learning.
Sprint Days
Sprint days are:
- Sunday 28th and Monday 29th June,
- Friday 3rd July and Saturday 4th July,
- more days if required by sprinters
with some pre-arranged sprints and some that will be organised spontaneously during the conference. There is no charge for Sprint Days, but you will of course need to have somewhere to stay at night. You also will need to buy your own pub/cafe lunch.

The concessionary rate applies to: over 60's, full-time students, unwaged and nurses. Proof of status will be required at the Registration Desk.
Speakers have a Special Rate available to all who have had a EuroPython 2009 talk proposal accepted.
Extra Dinner Places
You may reserve extra places at the Conference Dinner, for example for friends and family.
Hotel Accommodation
We have reserved rooms at two hotels:
The Etap Hotel
- About 15 minutes walk from EuroPython
- By main road
- Basic, clean, comfortable
- No restaurant
- No bar
- Breakfast not included, Continental breakfast available at extra cost
- Limited secure parking, £3 per day
- Priced per room, each room has one double bed and one single bunk bed.
- Has wifi, not sure about details
The Premier Inn
- About 6 minutes walk from EuroPython
- By the historic gas-street canal (canal side restaurants and bars)
- Clean, comfortable
- Basic restaurant
- Bar
- Breakfast not included, Continental breakfast available at extra £5.15, full English £7.35
- Free Parking
- Priced per room, each room has one double bed or twin beds.
- Swisscomm wifi, works but expensive
You can cut the cost of your accommodation by arranging to share a room with other delegate(s) through the Wiki room share page.
Alternatively you can make your own accommodation arrangements at one of numerous hotels near the EuroPython 2009 venue, which you will be able to find on the Accommodation Page.
Please make your hotel arrangements early to be sure of a room. Birmingham City Centre hotels get booked up well in advance.
